  • The Transition to Teaching program to meet the needs for qualified teachers.
  • Championing the Tomorrow’s Teachers program to attract NNPS students to the teaching profession.
  • Strengthening relationships with Virginia college career counselors and education faculty
  • Providing licensure workshops for substitute teachers

Teacher retention strategies include:

  • Salary increases ensure competitive salaries.
  • Mentoring services for new teachers.
  • Male minority mentorship for new teachers.
  • Providing college courses and/or state approved institutes for special education teachers
  • Individualized and group sessions to assist with re-licensure requirements.
  • Hosting an annual transfer fair to give teachers the opportunity to transfer to another school or program.
