Landscaped Boulevards
The efficiency and safety of Warwick Boulevard and Denbigh Boulevard as the District's primary traffic arteries will be improved by reducing and consolidating driveway entrances in conjunction with the creation of activity centers. The visual quality of these boulevards will be improved by the consolidation of commercial strips into landmark, quality centers and by provision of quality landscaping, removal of overhead wires and sign control.

It is recommended that a Highway Corridor Overlay District be established along Warwick and Denbigh Boulevards to help to ensure a higher degree of landscaping, better sign control, and the construction of quality structures along these corridors.
Ft. Eustis Gateway. The Ft. Eustis Gateway/Warwick Corridor Business Improvement Grant was awarded to City of Newport News in 2005 for the purpose of improving the aesthetic appearance of Warwick Boulevard between Menchville Road and Ft. Eustis Boulevard. A Portion of the grant will be used specifically for landscaping the medians between Stoney Run Park and Ft. Eustis Boulevard. The second half of the grant will be utilized as a matching grant program for area businesses seeking to improve their facades, increase lighting, landscaping, security, or expanding their business.
