Aesthetics

The image of Denbigh is very important to its residents and the many businesses and industries that bring activity to District III. Overhead utility lines that are most visible should be moved underground to increase landscaping as recommended by the Warwick Boulevard Corridor Study (2004).  Well maintained neighborhoods and parks as well as other physical landmarks can make the district look more aesthetically pleasing.

Businesses should accent the district with an appropriate use and mix of materials, balanced use of colors, proper lighting techniques, and well-designed site elements such as landscaping, green building techniques, and minimal surface parking. Many businesses in District III along the Warwick Corridor are eligible for the Fort Eustis Gateway/Warwick Corridor Business Improvement Grant.  This federal program is offered by the City as a matching grant to businesses that wish to make aesthetic improvements or upgrades to their establishments on Warwick Blvd.  Some of these improvements include landscaping, signage, lighting, and parking lot improvements.
