Workforce Housing
One definition of workforce housing is housing that is affordable to households earning incomes within the range 80% - 120% of area median income. Types of workforce housing include single-family homes, townhouses, condominiums, starter homes, and apartments that are affordable to municipal employees and the other workers who provide essential services in our community. As stated earlier in this chapter, the City needs to ensure there is a balance of housing types that can be afforded by individuals of all income levels.
