Redevelopment
Some areas in the Planning District are recommended for redevelopment. For example, some older, marginal, commercial shopping centers should be redeveloped. Eventually, larger mobile home parks will be phased out when the real estate market and higher land values make another use more viable, such as the Chesapeake Mobile Home Park and Warwick Mobile Home Estates. New, large infill sites like Port Warwick have set a positive standard for redevelopment opportunities. Finally, publicly owned land will be redeveloped. The SCOT site, for example, will likely be redeveloped.
