Workforce Housing
District II, like other districts in the City, has an abundant amount of housing. However, much of the single family housing is not within reach of families who currently earn between 80% and 120% of the median family income. Workforce housing includes single-family homes, townhouses, condominiums, starter homes, and apartments that are affordable to area workers. Workers who provide essential services in our community such as policing, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail workers need more opportunities for decent, safe, and affordable places to live. To accomplish this, the City should develop an affordable housing policy.
